13,944 new cases bring total to 2,939,198<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Health Ministry reported 13,944new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday (Feb 8).<\/p>\n

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted that this brought the cumulative infections in the country to 2,939,198.<\/p>\n

The number of new cases according to state will be shared by the Health Ministry on its CovidNow portal.<\/p>\n

Another 11,034 new cases, 10 clusters<\/strong><\/p>\n

A total of 11,034 new Covid-19 cases were recorded on Monday (Feb 7), says Dr Noor Hisham.<\/p>\n

The Health director-general said this brings the cumulative total to 2,925,254 cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of the 11,034 new Covid-19 cases, 77 are imported cases and 10,957 are local cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of 58 patients fall under Categories 3, 4 and 5, whereas there are 10,976 cases under Categories 1 and 2,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong them, 135 cases require treatment in intensive care units (ICU), whereby 84 are confirmed Covid-19 cases and 51 are suspected cases, probabilities and cases under investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are 81 patients who require respiratory assistance. Out of them, 38 are confirmed Covid-19 cases and 43 are suspected cases, probabilities and cases under investigation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that 10 new clusters were identified, which means there are now 366 active clusters in Malaysia.<\/p>\n

On the infectivity rate, Dr Noor Hisham said the national R-naught rate stood at 1.27 with all states and territories recording 1.0 and above.<\/p>\n

Sabah (1.47), Perlis (1.4) and Sarawak (1.3) were the top three on the chart, whereas Kuala Lumpur had the lowest infectivity rate of 1.1.<\/p>\n

Number of new cases breaches five-figure mark<\/strong><\/p>\n

The number of new cases recorded as of Sunday (Feb 6) has breached 10,000.<\/p>\n

In a tweet on Sunday, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 10,089 cases were recorded, taking the cumnulative total to 2,914,220.<\/p>\n

Daily cases spike to above 9,000<\/strong><\/p>\n

Malaysia recorded 9,117 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Feb 5), says the Health Ministry.<\/p>\n

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, in a tweet, that this brings the cumulative number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 2,904,131 since the pandemic began.<\/p>\n

He also said a detailed breakdown of the daily Covid-19 infections would be uploaded to the Health Ministry’s CovidNow portal at midnight.<\/p>\n
